As I've been observing for the past two weeks, I've learned that meeting students' needs and classroom management are KEY in making your classroom run effectively and successfully. As I've thought how I can build a community classroom environment, I've thought how my cooperating teacher structures her classroom and what I hope to take and use in my future classroom.
I believe one of the main aspects in building
an effective classroom community is doing so by giving students equal
opportunities, pushing them above and beyond their abilities, and providing
motivation to each student as an individual. It’s my main goal in my classroom
to assure students feel safe, accepted, and comfortable. To build my own effective
classroom, I want to make it top priority to implement Morning Meetings into my
daily schedule, to meet individual students needs and to differentiate each and
every instructional lesson to help meet the needs of my students as
individuals.
Morning Meetings can
literally change the lives of students every day. When you use the Kriete model
in your classroom, it gives students opportunities to learn about each other
and grow together as friends inside and outside of the classroom. As a future
teacher, I believe Morning Meetings establish a safe environment for students
to learn as well as giving them opportunities to grow together. I want to
implement Morning Meetings into my classroom and give my students the
opportunity to feel comfortable with each other on a daily basis.
I want to be the teacher who
gives all students the opportunities to have daily affirmations, make
contributions to the classroom, feel the strength of power, feel they have a
purpose in all they do, and make learning a personal challenge to strive above
and beyond. I feel the above student needs are crucial to the classroom
and the way students learn. I will be the teacher to give my students all they
need in order to feel successful and to reach their dreams everyday in my
classroom.
I love hearing such a confident teacher voice, saying what you know you want, and what your students deserve. 5 pts.
